Summer is right around the corner! And while some of us are super busy, others have nothing to look forward to besides the heat. If you are that second person, or even the first one, we bet that you can find some time to play a little game with your friends...
How to Make Your Summer Shop
The first part of the game is to make up a currency. This can be anything you’d like, from paper circles to rubber bands. We decided to go with origami paper hearts, which we called “heartbucks”. We used a little heart emoji (♡) as the dollar sign (ex: ♡1 instead of $1) and each heart was like a dollar. Since we didn’t feel like making a billion tiny paper hearts, we decided that we could all make our own whenever we want. Origami paper hearts are great if you want to do this since they can be pretty simple once you get the hang of making them.
What you want to do next is make a bunch of random things (or not so random!). We made lots of crafts from Call It Crafty, occasionally a dessert or two from Drizzle Desserts, and a few more crafts that we found on the internet! We gave these to each other in exchange for a few heartbucks. It was tons of fun, and used up a lot of time for some of us who had lots of time, however, only a little bit for others, who didn’t have as much time, which was great!
The final thing that made this so much more fun was... drumroll please🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁... advertising!!! The key to selling things (in our opinion ;). We made a free Padlet and posted small ads for things that we sold. For example, when one of us made a little igloo home, she posted “Igloo Home for Sale!!! Only ♡5!!! Only 1 left in stock so get yours now!!!” and added a little picture of it. It was sold the next day! Wow, how much advertising can do!
Overall, this is a super fun project, and we hope you try it out!
