Looking for a delicious, easy treat to bake for the holidays? Well, you might have just found the perfect recipe! These Chocolate Peppermint Cupcakes are mostly store bought, so you just need to put them together!
Ingredients
Duncan Hines Perfectly Moist Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
1 cup water (on the box of the cake mix)
⅓ cup veggie oil (on the box of the cake mix)
3 eggs (on the box of the cake mix)
Store-bought vanilla frosting
Peppermint extract
Chocolate Sauce
Candy Canes (optional, but great to have them)
Cupcake wrappers
Cupcake tins
Measuring cup
Whisk
Bowl
P.S. you can change the cake mix to other chocolate ones, just use the recipe on the box instead of the ingredients that say “on the box of the cake mix.”
Instructions
Step one: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and put the cupcake wrapper into the tins.
Step two: Mix cake mix, veggie oil, eggs, and water well in a big bowl.
Step three: Put the batter into the cupcake tins.
Step four: Put that in the oven.
Step five: Bake for about 20 minutes (it might need more or less time depending on your oven).
Step six: While the cupcakes are baking, put a few drops(to taste) of peppermint extract into the frosting and if you would like, you can crush some candy canes in a plastic bag with a rolling pin and mix that in too.
Step seven: Take the cupcakes out and let them cool.
Step eight: Decorate them with the peppermint frosting, chocolate sauce, and if you want, crushed candy canes.
