Groovy Game Ideas

For this month in Games Galore, we are going to change it up a little bit! Here are some games that you can play with family and some without:

  • Solitaire - This is a common online card game that you can play without family. It is a lot of fun, and you could even play it with real cards!

  • Monopoly - This is a classic board game that is super fun and comes in many different versions, including Ms. Monopoly, Monopoly Jr, and Monopoly: Unicorns vs. Llamas. These are all super fun! And if you are on the go, you can even play a card game version, aka Monopoly Deal!

  • Uno - This game is a card game that you can play with your whole family! It is so much fun and super colorful! For some of the cards, you can even choose what they have on them! To win, you have to have no cards left, but remember to shout “Uno!” when you only have one card left!

  • Dos - This game is very similar to Uno. The only difference is that you have two card piles to choose from for playing cards rather than one and you win after earning enough points, not by having no cards. In addition, instead of shouting “Uno!” when you only have one card left, you shout “Dos!” when you have two cards left!

  • Candyland - This game is a classic. You can play it with up to 4 family members and/or friends! You probably know what it is, but if you don’t, it is a fun, candy-themed board game. It is really easy, and super quick. An average round would probably only take about 7 minutes (We just made that up after we played it, but you get the point😉).

  • Hullabaloo - Hullabaloo is an amazing, and super fun game that we personally recommend. There are dots that you place on the floor that have different shapes and things on them. There is a small machine that tells you what to do, like “Crawl to... a food!” or, “Jump to... an animal!”. Then, after a few minutes, it says “Freeze!” and says a certain pad like “If you are touching… the elephant… do a silly dance!” and you win if you were on that elephant pad. Overall, it is a really fun game for kids of all ages.

  • Twister - You probably all know Twister, but if you don’t, that's fine! Twister is a super fun and interactive game to play! There are multicolor dots on a plastic, foldable mat, and a spinner. Someone has to spin the spinner so it lands on a body part that you have to move (left arm, right leg, etc.) and a color (red, yellow, blue, or green which are all colors that are on the mat). Then, you would put that body part on a dot of that color on the mat. It is very tricky, and also super fun. Then, you stay in that position, and the spinner spins the spinner (tongue twister😋), and that keeps on repeating. You usually end up very twisted, and fall over (you are close to the ground so it is not a crazy fall usually). The last one standing wins!

That's all for now for the games but there are a lot more different ones out there that you can play! Try buying or playing a new game to switch it up!
