When it comes to Valentine's Day, a super fun thing to do is to exchange love letters, chocolate, and other cute surprises with the people you care about. That is why we are going to give you some ideas for the best Valentine’s Day ever!
Cards
One in a Million- Outline or print out a bunch of hearts in a grid formation. Then, color in one of them. It should stand out from all the other ones because it is one in a million! To really get the point across, write one in a million at the bottom or on the inside of the card!
Woven Love- Outline a design on thick paper like cardstock. It can be any design, as long as it is big enough that all of the lines are separate. Place dots, about every centimeter or so, along the lines of the outline. Using an embroidery needle, poke each of the dots. Then, thread the needle with yarn or embroidery floss and pull it through each of the holes you poked. Tie a knot at the back when you are done, and that is it!
Mailboxes
For mailboxes, all you need for the base is an empty milk carton or something similarly shaped. First, cut it to the height that you want your mailbox to be. If you want, you can cover it in construction paper or duct tape to hide any designs that might be on the container. Then, follow the instructions below to customize it!
Fluffy mailbox- For this mailbox, you will need some yarn and hot glue. What you want to do is cut the yarn into small pieces (about 2 cm). Next, you want to brush out the yarn so it is nice and soft and fluffy. The final step is to hot glue the yarn onto the base. We did it in layers, but you can also make the yarn pieces longer at the beginning and just do one layer.
Whiteboard mailbox- This one is very simple, because all you need to do is add a layer of duct tape to the base. Then, you can use a dry erase marker to write on it. There are lots of duct tapes in all colors and patterns, so you can basically have just about any tape- on pattern!
Pom-pom mailbox- This mailbox is really easy to make, but you will have to work fast, or else the pom poms might not stick! Now that you know that, all you have to do is hot glue the pom-poms on to your base! You can do it randomly, or in rainbow order, like we did.
Bonus: For any of the mailboxes, you can also add a yarn lining! Whether it is for decoration or to hide any blemishes that might be on top, it is super simple! All you have to do is hot glue one or two strips of any yarn onto the top edge of your mailbox. When it's done, it should look like the one we have here, for the fluffy monster mailbox!
